She was a founding member of TICA in 1979; a charter member of TICA's first club, Commencement Cat Club, and entered the judging program in 1985. She has lived in many places, all over the world, following her husband's military career.

In "real life", Ellen is the Disaster Program Manager for the Olympic Peninsula Chapter of the American Red Cross. She manages a satellite office, and trains and deploys volunteers in times of national disaster.

Dewane Barnes
Palatine, Illinois, USA

TICA Judge since 1988

Dewane Barnes started showing in the late 1950s. His first "show cat" was a brown Mackerel Tabby Household Pet named Cleo. She did so well that he decided that he would try his hand at showing a purebred cat so he purchased a Seal Point Siamese. He bred and showed Siamese for several years until he decided to work with Oriental Shorthairs. Dewane owned the first OS Grand Champion in CFA, a tortie Oriental named Justa Foo-Lin. He also showed a Mackerel Tabby OS in ACFA, Black Bart, who was the first OS Grand CH in ACFA. He was also the OS breed chair in ACFA. Dewane has been a TICA judge since 1988 and served on the TICA Board of Directors for 18 years.
